CHARLESTON, WV: Women's Soccer traveled to Charleston, WV for their season opener against the University of Charleston Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon. It was a dominant performance from Walsh in a match that saw them out shoot Charleston, 29-18, with 15 of them on target versus the Golden Eagles's 7. Senior, Katie Corrigan, opened the floodgates with the first goal of the season in the 52nd minute. Ramsey Smith added the second in the 66th minute off a free kick from Katie Norris. Paityn Marino scored the Cavs third goal in the 69th minute followed by Corinne Casenhiser ten minutes later in the 79th, assisted from a Ramsey Smith pass. The Golden Eagles scored a consolation in the 83rd, resulting in a 4-1 final score. The Maroon and Gold are back in action for their home opener on Friday, September 12th, at 4 P.M. when they will welcome Saginaw Valley State University to Larry Staudt Field.
