NORTH CANTON, OH: Tuesday afternoon, the National Association of Basketball Coaches released the latest coaches poll. Walsh Men's Basketball moved up three spots, to 20th, in the latest release.
The movement is of no surprise as the Cavs went 2-0 last week, defeating Tiffin and Malone.
This week, the Cavaliers will return home, to Alumni Arena, hosting Thomas More and Hillsdale. Thursday's match up, vs the Saints will be the season's first contest between the teams. Thomas More comes to North Canton in 11th place in the G-MAC with a 10-8 (4-7) record. Saturday will be the second game between Walsh and Hillsdale. Walsh previously beat the Chargers, on January 5th, 76-64. Hillsdale is currently 8-11 (5-6).
Last week's victories for the Maroon and Gold also helped in the conference postseason picture. The Men now have a two game lead in the conference standings. Ashland sits at 7-4 in league play and four other teams have five G-MAC losses. The first release of the Great Midwest point rating system comes out on Monday.
