NORTH CANTON, OH: A strong start led to a dominant victory for the Walsh Men's Basketball team on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers earned their 8th straight win in lowkey fashion, beating the Hillsdale Chargers, 71-51. Walsh previously defeated Hillsdale earlier this month, 76-64.
From the opening tip, it was all Maroon and Gold. Quickly, the Men earned a twelve point lead, going on a 14-0 run through the first seven minutes. The Cavs kept the pedal on the gas, holding Hillsdale to just 13 first half points. The halftime score was 41-13. The Men held the visitors to just three buckets in the first 20 minutes. The Chargers were also 0-10 from three.
The deficit was too large to create any type of game in the second half. The closest Hillsdale got was 16 points.
The Cavaliers shot 52.8% from the floor and dominated the rebound match up 40-22.
Walsh will return to Alumni Arena on Thursday, 2/5, at 7pm. They will host the Lake Erie College Storm.
