Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

MEN'S BASKETBALL'S COMEBACK EFFORTS FALL SHORT UP NORTH

MIDLAND, MI: Men's Basketball suffered their second loss in G-MAC play this afternoon in Michigan. The Northwood Timberwolves defeated the Cavs, 80-75. The high powered Cavalier offense was halted today, especially in the first half. The Cavs shot 1-10 from the three point arc and 36% from the floor. The tough shooting gave the hosts a clear advantage, taking an 8 point lead into the locker room.

The Maroon and Gold were able to find some offensive rhythm out of the break shooting 45% from the floor in the second half as well as making six threes.

Being down 12 points with 5:47 left gave Walsh some urgency with their comeback efforts. The 12 point deficit was gone, quickly as the Cavs took their first lead of the game with 2:33 to go. With a 1:04 to go, Brayden Gross made a layup to put Walsh up by 3. As the final time ticked down, Northwood connected on a three from behind the arc which led Walsh to fouling in the final 10 seconds. The Timberwolves made four free throws down the stretch, handing Walsh the loss.

The Cavs will have a quick return to the court as they face Hillsdale, at Hillsdale on Monday at 7:30pm.
