NORTH CANTON, OH: Walsh Women's Basketball earned a huge G-MAC win, yesterday, over the Hillsdale Chargers. With the final month of regular season play finally here, wins are crucial for each of the 13 teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. With 8 teams making the post season, many teams, including Walsh, were looking to chip away at key wins to help pave their way to the tournament.
Saturday afternoon, the Cavaliers earned a hard fought 72-63 victory. The Cavs previously lost to the Chargers, earlier in January, 60-53.
3 Walsh Women were in double figures but what helped the most was the efficient shooting performance. The Maroon and Gold kept a consistent flow on the offensive end, shooting 52.8% from the floor and making eight three's. Walsh outscored Hillsdale, 36-18 in the paint. The Cavs also won each quarter.
The Women sit in 7th place in the G-MAC standings. Another big conference battle will be on Thursday, at 5pm, vs the Lake Erie College Storm.

FOR THE CAVS
On Thursday, Walsh fell to then, 17-2, Thomas More, by a score of 66-46. The Cavs had a tough offensive day going 5-37 from three and 23.5% overall.
Carlota Lopez led the Cavs with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Emma Dretke added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
