CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY: The 22nd ranked Cavalier Men's Basketball team grabbed another Great Midwest win this evening on the road. Coming in, the Cavs knew tonight would be a battle as Thomas More gave the Maroon and Gold a game on 1/29. The Cavaliers narrowly won that contest, 80-76. Tonight's ten point win moved Walsh one step closer to postseason play as they have just about two weeks to go.
The first 20 minutes went as expected as both teams were knotted up at 29 points a piece. Walsh struggled on the offensive end shooting 35.7% from the field, only making three 3's in the first half. The Men then settled in, as they have done most of the time this season, taking control in the second half. Walsh quickly built a 7 point lead that was then cut to 1 point at the 12:36 mark. From there, the Cavs used their poise and balanced efforts to go up by 11 points. The Saints would not go away easy as they again made the game go to within 4 points with 4:15 to play. 5 quick points from
Quintero Barnett and 4 from
Brayden Gross got the Walsh lead up to 13 points with 1:36 to go, sealing the 19th win of the 2025-2026 campaign.
With the win, the Men now have a .21 lead atop the G-MAC point rating system. The PRS is the deciding factor for postseason play in the conference.
The Cavs will continue their road trip on Saturday as they play at Kentucky Wesleyan at 3:30pm.
