NORTH CANTON, OH: In another tough match up, the Walsh Men's Lacrosse team lost to Frostburg State on Saturday, February 21st. In a rather even match up, the Men saw a 4-2 lead early until the Bobcats scored three straight goals taking a lead into halftime. The Cavaliers tied it up at 5, thanks to a man up goal but that was about the final straw for Frostburg to turn up the heat. A 4-1 goal run turned into a Cavalier defeat, taking the team to 1-4 on the young season.
Despite the loss, Walsh led in ground balls and face offs won. The Frostburg offensive attack had too many opportunities taking 39 total shots to Walsh's 26. 22 of the Bobcats shots were on goal.
The Men will have a small break from games, not playing again until March 7th. On the 7th, Walsh will open G-MAC play, visiting the Northwood Timberwolves.
