NORTH CANTON, OH: On the eve of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament, the conference released the end of season awards on Thursday afternoon. The Regular Season Champions, the Walsh Cavaliers saw many Cavs earn honors including two of the top awards. Head Coach,
Jeff Young, earned Great Midwest Coach of the Year while Freshman,
Brayden Gross earned Freshman of the Year. The leadership of Young led the Cavaliers to a 17-3 conference record and a regular season championship.
Brayden Gross, the 6-7 forward from Louisville, was a force for the Maroon and Gold averaging 14 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in G-MAC play. Gross also earned All-Conference First Team with
Quintero Barnett. Seniors,
Zack Oddo and
Kobe Mitchell earned Second Team.
