NORTH CANTON, TIFFIN, AND FINDLAY, OH: Cavalier Tennis is postseason bound as both programs have officially clinched a spot in the 2026 Great Midwest Tennis Tournament. With seedings still to be decided, heading into the last week of conference play, the Cavaliers have prepared themselves for a post season run. Both teams are 4-2 in G-MAC play, most recently dropping contests to Findlay and Tiffin on the road. Despite the losses, Freshman standout,
Ross Trias continues to dominate being undefeated at #1 singles in the conference. For the season, he is 21-6. His strong play earned him G-MAC Athlete of the Week last week.
The most recent program wins were against Cedarville and Ashland. Against Cedarville, both teams started with doubles wins on all courts.
Taira Abildayeva showed consistency, finishing confidently at #1 on that day: 6/2, 6/2. Olesya Ivaschuck dropped only one game at #5.

Eliza Verstappen lost in close matches. Final score: WU 5 - CU 2
The Men preserved high level of play on all courts without giving out a single point to the opponent. Nico Stroehle and Ben Hoffman produced spirited performance but came up just short in a close set, falling at #2, 7-6. Ross Trias claimed a remarkable comeback win at #1 after being down, 5-2 in the first set. The Men defeated CU, 4-0.
Against Ashland, the Cavs showed resilience and competitive spirit. Aleksandra Chmir was dominant throughout in her match at #4, sealing a win with authority: 6/4, 6/3. Live-Grete Laarman secured a point as well at #6: 6/3, 7/6(5). It was a standout performance from all doubles that day, which gives a sense of confidence in the beginning of singles play. Both teams finished the day with 6–1 victory against Ashland.
This week, the Cavs will take on Northwood and Hillsdale to close out the regular season.
