WALSH CLINCHES POSTSEASON SPOT, BIG SERIES VS KWC LIES AHEAD

NORTH CANTON, OH: Despite taking their first series loss in South Divison play, Walsh Cavalier Baseball is headed back to Prasco Park and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament. Sitting at 17-11 in conference play, a spot to play for a conference title has been secured. This good news came off a tough weekend, where the Cavs suffered a reverse sweep from the Cedarville Yellow Jackets at Biery Stadium. After defeating Cedarville, 16-6 in game one, the wheels fell off for the Maroon and Gold as they were defeated 6-4, 19-2, and 11-8. This was the first series loss in overall conference play since the Cavs lost 3 of 4 to Ashland in mid March.

This coming weekend, the Men will take on the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers, at home. The four game series will determine the South Division Champion and second overall seed in the G-MAC Tournament. The Cavs hold a one game lead heading into the weekend. First pitch of the series is scheduled for 1pm on Thursday, April 30th.

With the final week of the regular season, the Maroon and Gold lead many statistical fields in the G-MAC including 1st in fielding percentage, and 3rd in batting. Mason Stoldt leads the league in RBI's and home runs and is 2nd overall in slugging percentage. Brodey Acres in 1st in doubles, 2nd in hits, and 3rd in OPS. Chris Kramer is 2nd in steals.
