CANTON, OH: Women's Lacrosse opened up the 2026 Great Midwest Athletic Conference with a big statement as they beat rival and 4th seed Malone, on the road last Saturday. After falling to the Pioneers on April 15th, 17-12, the G-MAC Quarterfinal win was that much sweeter.
Saturday's 16-14 victory came from an all out effort from the Women as a 6 goal outburst in the second quarter gave Walsh all the momentum they needed. The second quarter energy moved right to the third as Walsh scored 4 straight to take a 14-10 lead with 3 minutes to go in the third. Despite Malone responding, the Cavs always had an answer, keeping the rivals out of the game.
With the quarterfinal win, the team advances to Ashland where they will face the #1 seeded Eagles on Thursday at 2pm.
