Walsh University

PEPPER PIKE AND NORTH CANTON, OH: Great Midwest play is officially underway and the Cavaliers of Walsh opened up 2-0. Friday night, the Cavs traveled to Ursuline to take on the Arrows. Walsh dominated, completing the sweep with scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-13. The Maroon and Gold were firing on all cylinders, out pacing the Arrows in all statistical categories. Walsh totaled 5 aces, 5 blocks, 33 assists, and 61 digs. 

Saturday's home opener was against the Lake Erie College Storm. After a slow first set, the Cavs got into gear taking the next three sets to secure the victory on Senior Day. Brynn Egbert, Maria Montseny, and Izzy Shank led the Cavs up front. Sabrina Da Silva also had a gritty performance for the Maroon and Gold. 

The Women are now 5-3 and 2-0 in conference play. They will return to the Cecchini Center on Tuesday, September 15th, at 6pm.

SCORES: WU 3 - UC 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-13)

• Izzy Shank led the Cavs with 11 kills and 2 blocks.
• AJ Burick had 12 assists and 10 digs. 
• Sabrina Da Silva had 12 digs. 

VS LAKE ERIE
SCORES: WU 3 - LEC 1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-21)

• Brynn Egbert tallied 15 points for the Maroon and Gold. She had a team high 13 kills and 2 blocks. 
• Maria Montseny had 12 kills. 
• AJ Burick and Emerson Sheets had strong days setting with 27 and 25 assists, respectively. 
• Sabrina Da Silva had a match high 23 digs.
