AKRON, OH: Walsh Cross Country lined up for the first time this season at the University of Akron's Tommy Evan's Invitational. The Maroon and Gold, opened up the season with strong showings by both teams with the Men taking first out of seven teams and the Women placing second out of seven. Entering opening weekend, the Men's team was ranked 18th in the country by the USTFCCCA. 

For the Cavalier Men, Theo Papas, Noah Graham, and Ruairi Zuercher led the way placing 5th, 6th, 7th out of 89 runners. 

For the Women, Katie Ison, Hannah Ison, and Casey Russell led the Cavaliers with 7th, 8th, and 9th place finishes. 

The teams will be back in action on September 18th as they will travel to Cedarville for the All-Ohio Championships.
