Box Score (HOUGHTON, Mich.) – The Walsh women's soccer team concluded its season with a 5-0 defeat to Michigan Tech in the quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament. The Cavaliers, who were the No. 6 seed, end the season with a record of 8-6-4. The third-seeded Huskies (11-3-2) will advance to the semifinals to play either No. 2 Grand Valley State or No. 7 Ferris State in Columbus.
Tech started the offensive outburst early with a goal by Janelle Riedl 4:38 into the game. The Huskies added another goal in the 38th minute to go into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Any chance of a comeback quickly evaporated as Michigan Tech scored goals in the 66th and 67th minutes.
The Cavs' offense was limited on the day as they were outshot 22-7 in the game. Michigan Tech also held an 8-2 corner kick advantage.
