(TIFFIN, Ohio) After failing to held a 5-0 lead in game one, Walsh's bats erupted for 12 runs in the nightcap to help the Cavs (11-7, 4-2) split their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference double header at Tiffin University (9-13, 4-2) today. Tiffin rallied to capture game one 6-5, with Walsh earning the split with a 12-7 win in the nightcap. The two teams wrap-up the four game series with a double header starting at 12 pm tomorrow.

Walsh jumped Tiffin starter Logan Sendelbach for four runs in the first inning of the opener keyed by Jason McPeek's (Jr., Stow, OH / Munroe Falls) two run single. Andrew Stalnaker (So., Canton, OH / Jackson) also drove in a run, with another run scoring on a Tiffin error. The Cavs would add a run in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.

Tiffin came storming back with four runs in in the bottom of the sixth inning to chase Walsh starter Brandon Whitslar (Sr., Seville, OH / Cloverleaf).

Walsh added insurance runs in the final three innings.  McPeek hit a solo homer in the seventh inning, and the Cavs added two more in the eighth on Kitzler's second triple of the game, and a Szink sacrifice fly. In the ninth, the Cavs added an unearned run when Johnny Knight IV (So., Jefferson, OH / Area) singled and Luke Caple (So., Naples, FL / Gulf Coast), who led off the inning with a double, scored on an error by the left fielder. The Cavs final run came on a fielders' choice.

Ryan McSweeney (So., Seven Hills, OH / Trinity) came on for the two inning save, and worked out of bases loaded jam when entered the game with one out in the eighth inning.
