The Cavs erased a 2-1 Ashland lead with a two-run, two-out fourth inning rally to take a 3-2 lead. Johnny Knight IV (So., Jefferson, OH / Jefferson Area) stroked a double to right-center to score Jason McPeek (Jr., Stow, OH / Munroe Falls) and Tyson Lautanen (So., Painesville, OH / Fairport Harbor / Eastern Kentucky).
After Ashland tied the game in the fifth at 3-3, the Cavs used another two-run inning to take a 5-3 lead in the seventh. Andrew Bonnette (Sr., Tallmadge, OH / HS) doubled to left-center to score Jordan Shank (Sr., Canton, OH / GlenOak), and then scored on Austin Szink's (So., Canton, OH / Jackson) single to center.
Ashland added a solo homer in the seventh for the games final run.
Walsh starter Seth Robinson (Jr., Akron, OH / Springfield) worked six innings to pick-up the win and improve to 2-2. Kyle Ward (Jr., Independence, OH / Padua Franciscan) worked two scoreless innings and Ryan McSweeney (So., Seven Hills, OH / Trinity) pitched the ninth for his third save.
