(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) Saginaw Valley State University (20-18-1, 14-15-1) spoiled Biery Stadium/Tim Mead Field Dedication Day by sweeping Walsh (17-27, 10-20) 19-0 and 7-4 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) double header today. Before today's twinbill the baseball complex was official renamed Biery Stadium and Tim Mead Field in pregame ceremonies at home plate.

Saginaw spoiled the party in game one with four runs in the first inning, and then ten in the sixth in a 19-0 shellacking of the Cavs.  The Cardinals, who banged out 21 hits, were aided by four Walsh errors, seven walks, and three hit batsmen.

The Cardinals took the early lead in game two with single runs in the first and third innings. They increased their lead to 5-0 with a three-run fifth inning. Walsh closed to 5-3 with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Andrew Stalnaker (So., Canton, OH / Jackson) clubbed a solo homer, and Ryan McSweeney (So., Seven Hills, OH / Trinity) and Sean Trexler (R-Fr.., Akron, OH / Archbishop Hoban) each drove in a run. SVSU put the game away with two insurance runs in the eighth. Jordan Shank (Sr., Canton, OH / GlenOak) hit a solo homer to left in the ninth.

The Cavs conclude the season with a twinbill against the Cardinals at 4:30 tomorrow. The games will be played at Kent State University.
