(MEADVILLE, Pa.) Walsh won a thriller in the season opener at Allegheny College (1-2), winning 5-4 at the Robertson Complex.

Walsh opened the match by winning two of three doubles matches. Pablo Cabezon (Sr., Santander, Spain / Calasanz Collegue) and Tim Bruin (So., North Canton, OH / Hoover) won 8-6 at number two doubles and Jose Fernandez (Jr., Sevilla, Spain / Instituto de Educacaion a Distancia) and Christian Henderson (Sr., St. Paris, OH / Lehman Catholic) won 8-4 at third doubles.

With the match tied at 4-4, Carlos Jaque (Sr., Chijuayante / Lycee Charles de Gaulle) won 7-5, 7-5 at second singles to give the Cavs the win.

Heitor Adegas (So., Londrina, Brazil / Colegio Marista de Londrina) won 6-3, 6-4 at fourth singles and Fernandez posted a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win at fifth singles.
