(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – An early first half goal was enough to put Walsh past Michigan Tech as it was the only goal of the game at Milazzo Field Friday evening. It was the Cavaliers (3-3-2, 1-2) first-ever win over the Huskies (3-3, 0-2) as they avenged a double-overtime loss in the regular season and a defeat in the quarterfinals of the GLIAC playoffs.

Sarah Berger (So., Wadsworth, Ohio/HS) scored her second goal of the season as she sent a strike in from the left side. Tech's goalie Jenna Phelps was able to jump and get a hand on it, but was unable to deflect it over the net as the ball found its way to the right side of the goal. The score came at 10:10 and the Cavaliers were able to make it last for the rest of regulation.

Tech kept the pressure on throughout as the Huskies outshot Walsh 15-6 in the game with a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. Michaella Stucky (Sr., Medina, Ohio/HS) had a spectacular game between the pipes with nine saves as she recorded her second shutout of the season. It's the third game this year she's made nine saves.

Walsh will look to remain unbeaten at home this season as it hosts Northern Michigan on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The Cavs also hold wins over Fairmont State and Maine-Fort Kent and a draw with Point Park at Milazzo Field this season.
