Box Score 2 (Indiana, PA) Walsh (1-1) split the season opening matches at the Crimson Hawk Invitational today. The Cavs defeated Notre Dame College in four sets, before falling to Seton Hill University in three sets. The Cavs meet Pitt-Johnstown at 10am tomorrow, and then conclude play with Alderson-Broaddus at 3 pm.
After falling 25-27 in the first set to Notre Dame, Walsh came back to clip the Falcons 25-10, 25-23 and 25-23. Gina Kramer (So., 5-11, Maria Stein, OH / Marion Local) paced the Cavs solid attack with 14 kills and a .611 attack percentage. Kelsey Snider (Sr., 5-10, Olmsted Falls, OH / HS) added 11 kills and Devin Hummel (Sr., 5-8, Shelby, OH / HS) 10. Kaitlin Bronikowski picked up where she left off last year and recorded 18 digs. Emily Arnold (Fr., 5-11, Sylvania, OH / Southview) handed out 20 assists and Haley Howell (Jr., 5-11, Clarkston, MI / Our Lady of the Lake) ten.
Seton Hill bested the Cavs in the second match by set scores of 18-25, 24-26, 19-25. Kramer and Snider led Walsh with seven and six kills respectively. Snider also added 12 digs. Bronikowski had 17 digs and Erica Schiets (Fr., 5-6, Woodville, OH / St. Ursula Academy) 10.
