Box Score (NASHVILLE) – Walsh dropped an 8-2 decision to future conference foe and hosting Trevecca Nazarene at Jackson Field on Saturday evening. The Cavaliers drop to 2-4 on the season while the Trojans improved to 6-2.
Trevecca took an early lead after it scored three in the bottom of the second. The Cavaliers answered with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth, but the Trojans responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame and an insurance run in their next at-bat.
The Cavs scored their first run thanks to a Luke Caple double to left center that brought in Andrew Stalnaker. Caple scored later in the inning when Tyson Lautanen grounded into a doubple play.
Matt Iosue took the loss to fall to 0-2 on the season. He went 5.2 and allowed five runs on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
The Cavaliers will close out their trip to the Music City with a game against Quincy which is also set to be played at Jackson Field. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
