Box Score 2 (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The conference season couldn't have started a better way for Walsh is it swept Tiffin in a doubleheader by scores of 7-5 and 7-6 on a chilly Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers evened up the season campaign at 11-11. The Dragons, who also started GLIAC play, dropped to 7-11.
In the first game, Luke Caple stole the show as he went 4-for-4 from the plate and got Walsh on the board early with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. After the Dragons tied the game in the second, Caple gave Walsh the lead once again with a single through the right side to score James Thomas.
That started a series in which the Cavs scored runs in four of five at-bats. Jason McPeek scored on the next play after an error allowed Andrew Stalnaker to reach safely. Austin Szink followed with a double to left center to bring in Caple. Two batters later, Brook Clark capped the run with a two-RBI single through the left side to score Szink and Stalnaker.

The action picked up in the second game as the teams exchanged leads four times. The good part for Walsh was that the Cavs always regained the lead in the same inning Tiffin took it.
Another home run in the first inning gave Walsh the quick lead once again in the second game. This time it was Stalnaker with the long ball to score McPeek to give the Cavs a 2-0 lead.

The score remained 5-4 until Tiffin scored a pair in the eighth. McPeek gave the lead right back to Walsh with his second home run of the day with two outs in the eighth.
