Cavs Pull Comeback On Bloomsburg

(MELBOURNE, Fla.) – The Walsh men's tennis team completed a major comeback with a 5-4 victory over Bloomsburg in its first match of spring break on Monday morning. The Cavaliers (4-3) wend down 3-0 to the Huskies (2-2) after doubles play, but won five of the six singles matches to take the win.

Four of the matches featured tiebreakers or a third set. Rodrigo Garcia won one such match with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 triumph at No. 4 singles. Heitor Adegas took another with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 6 singles.

Vasiliy Vidmanov had little trouble with his opponent at the top singles contest with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Ross Whittaker also made short work of his opponent at No. 2 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Carlos Jaque provided the other point with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.

Walsh returns to action tomorrow with a match at Florida Southern tomorrow with a scheduled start of 10 a.m.
