(VIENNA, W.Va.) – In its last non-conference game of the regular season, Walsh defeated hosting Ohio Valley University with a 77-64 victory in the Mountain State this evening. The win gives the Cavaliers (11-4) a season sweep over the Fighting Scots (0-12), a future Great-Midwest Athletic Conference rival they defeated 89-56 in the season opener two months ago.

Walsh opened up the game with a 9-0 run and never trailed in the game. Trey Fletcher score six of those points en route to a career-high 34 points on the night. He also reached a career-high in rebounds with 14 as he tallied his fifth double-double of the season. Fletcher nearly obtained the mark by halftime with 18 points and nine boards.

Fletcher was 13-of-24 from the field and 8-of-11 from the free throw line. His caroms were nearly split even with six on offense and eight on defense.

The Fighting Scots answered back with an 8-0 run to come back within one at the start, but Walsh bounced back and pushed its lead back to double-digits and kept it that way for the remainder of the game.

Jameel Moore and Conor Keck joined Fletcher in double-figures in the scoring column with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Chandler Vaudrin pulled down 11 rebounds and was an assist shy of a double-double of his own.

The inside of the paint belonged to Walsh for the night as the Cavaliers cleaned up both backboards with a 49-30 rebounding edge. They also outscored the Fighting Scots 34-14 inside the paint.

Ohio Valley was paced by Kyle Davis who exploded for a season-high 30 points.

The Cavaliers will return to GLIAC play when they start the South Division portion of the schedule against Lake Erie this Saturday. Tip-off with the Storm is set for 3 p.m. following the women's game. Fans are encouraged to dress accordingly for the day's Beach Party theme.
