Men's Tennis Downed By Grand Valley In Season Finale

(CANTON, Ohio) – The Walsh men's tennis team closed out the season today with a 7-2 loss to Grand Valley State at the Hall of Fame Courts. The Cavaliers end the year at 11-12 overall and 3-6 in the GLIAC. The Lakers, ranked No. 3 in the region, are 18-6 overall and 8-1 in the conference.

The lone points for the Maroon and Gold both came in singles action. Ross Whittaker closed out his collegiate career on top with a victory at No. 2 singles as he defeated Zach Phillips 7-5, 7-5.

Felix Zimmermann provided the other point with a win at No. 3 singles. He defeated Jack Geissler 6-3, 6-3.

Whittaker and Zimmermann were close to providing another point in doubles action, but the duo lost 9-7 at the top pairing to Phillips and Alex van de Steenoven.
