Baseball Blanked By Cal 4-0

Box Score

(WASHINGTON, Pa.) – Early offense by California was too much for Walsh to overcome as it fell 4-0 in non-conference action at Wild Things Park on Monday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 0-3 on the season, while the Vulcans improved to 3-2.

Eric Conner provided two hits in his four at-bats on the day. The other three hits came off the bats of Avery Janning, Spencer Helwig, and Joey Holiga.

Aidan Mlachak started the game and was charged with the loss. Luke Miller did well in relief as he pitched a perfect final four innings with four strikeouts.

Cal initially got on the board in the first inning on a bases-loaded fielder's choice. The Vulcans added two home runs in the third for the final three runs.

The Cavaliers will now prep for their annual spring break trip to Florida. They will play nine games while in the Sunshine State with the majority taking place in Auburndale. The first two of those games will take place on Saturday when they join Gannon for a twin bill at Lake Myrtle Park Field No. 5 starting at 9 a.m.
