Conner Homers Thrice, But Cavs Swept At Ashland

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

(ASHLAND, Ohio) – Eric Conner belted three home runs on the day, but it wasn't enough as Walsh was swept by Ashland by scores of 6-2 and 9-7 on at Donges Field on Tuesday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 16-14 on the year, while the Eagles improved to 20-9.

Conner's incredible day saw him go 5-for-9 from the plate with seven RBI. His first round trip came in the third inning of the first game and tied the game at 2-2.

The second helped give Walsh a 5-0 lead with a three-run blast in the top of the second. The final came four innings later on another two-run shot to put the Cavs up 7-4.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, the Eagles were able to rally after each surge. In game one, Ashland answered with two runs in the fourth and two more in the sixth. In game two, the hosts scored five in the bottom of the sixth to steal the win.

Nik Barkdull took the loss in the opener to fall to 2-2 on the season. Dylan Corsi was charged with the loss in his first decision of the season in game two.

Walsh returns to G-MAC action this Saturday for a twin bill against Lake Erie. First pitch with the Storm is set for 1 p.m. at Biery Stadium.
