(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A home run derby broke out Thursday afternoon at Biery Stadium as Walsh hit six of them in an 11-5 victory over Notre Dame College. Four of them came in the fourth inning alone as the Cavaliers (14-11) jumped out to a 9-0 lead against the Falcons (6-20).

Avery Janning and Andrew Czech both had big days as they hit two home runs each. Janning provided the first two with the initial coming on a solo blast to left field in the second, while the second was clobbered to the same place on a two-run shot that scored Czech in the bottom of the fourth.

The momentum followed through the lineup as Jacob Beach, Cobe Hutchison, and Czech all left the ball park in their next at-bats. Ross Etgen scored on Hutchison's round trip, while Marcus Bobb and Eric Conner scored on Czech's.

After the Flacons eventually got on the board in the top of the seventh, Czech launched his second of the game in the bottom of the eighth that also scored Jared Houser. Czech finished the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBI to lead the Cavs. He now has nine home runs on the season, second most in the G-MAC. Janning's pair give him six for the year.

Nik Barkdull picked up the win as he started the game and tossed five shutout innings on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Divisional play now starts up for the Cavaliers who will welcome Findlay this weekend for a three-game series. The Cavs and Oilers will play two on Saturday with a first pitch at 1 p.m. followed by a second game on Sunday.
