ELKINS, West Va. - The Walsh University men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Davis & Elkins to take on the Senators on Sunday (April 7). The men's team defeated the Senators 4-1, while the women won 4-0. 

On the men's side, Walsh defeated D&E in three of four singles matches. Jakob Riglewski defeated Matthew Mulyadi 6-1 and 6-4 in #1 singles, while Dawson Drummond won #2 singles (6-2, 6-1). Alex Medina rounded out the singles victories with 6-3 and 6-2 wins in #4 singles. 

The #1 doubles team of Joao Campos and Guilherme Carnelo fell short in their match, but the #2 doubles team made up of Riglewski and Tim Bruin won 6-4, as did the #3 doubles team of Clemens Wagner and Filipp Kulynych (6-1). 

For the women, three of the four singles matches were won by the Cavaliers. Mercedes Fernandez defeated Taylour Newman in #1 singles 6-0 and 6-3, while Clara Drasch (6-1, 6-2) and Nicole Beidacki (6-2, 6-0) won #3 and #4 singles, respectively.  

The Cavaliers won all three doubles matches on the day, led by the #1 doubles team of Beidacki and Fernandez who won 6-1. Maria Kacalova and Katharina Razum won #2 doubles 6-1, while Parvanee Karimpour and Drasch rounded out the doubles matches with a 6-0 victory #3 doubles.

Men's tennis will face Cedarville at home on Friday (April 12) at 3:00 PM. Women's tennis will battle Wayne St. on Saturday (April 13) at home starting at 4:00 PM.
