Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's basketball team used a first quarter flurry and three double-doubles to win their 25th straight game, 92-57 in the home opener over the Hillsdale Chargers on Saturday (Dec. 12).

The short story: Mayci Sales and Sha Carter combined for a 12-1 run in the first three and a half minutes of the game, lifting the Cavaliers early in the game. Another 17-0 run spanning 6:34 of the first and second quarters put the game out of reach.
OPENING TIP
- Sha Carter was one of three players with a double-double and one of five in double-figures. Carter scored ten points in the first quarter and 22 in the game on nine-of-15 shooting (3-of-3 from deep). The junior notched her 12th career double-double with ten rebounds (six offensive) while adding four assists and two steals.
- Mayci Sales went for 18 points and ten rebounds for her 16th double-double after scoring nine points in the first period.
- Lexie Scarton earned her first double-double of her career and nearly flirted with a triple-double. Scarton tallied 11 points, a career-high ten rebounds along with seven assists.
- Abby Hickey came off the bench for 16 points on six-of-11 shooting with four three pointers.
- Megan Ball was the fifth player in double-figures after a 12 point affair.
THE DIFFERENCE
- In a rebounding battle, the Cavaliers tallied 50 rebounds including 17 offensive boards to Hillsdale's 45. The Chargers had Sydney Mills grab a game-high 15 rebounds. This was the first time Walsh totaled 50 rebounds in a game since February 14, 2019.
- Walsh connected on 11 three pointers in the game, compared to three for the Chargers. The Cavaliers made five treys in the first quarter alone.
- Hillsdale turned the ball over 17 times, leading to 21 points for the Cavaliers.
- Walsh shared the ball with 16 assists, the sixth straight game with 15 or more dimes.
NOTABLE
- Walsh is 27-15 in home openers in the 42 years of the program.
- The 25 game winning streak is tied for the longest in program history, last done during the 2010-11 season.
- The Cavaliers have won 26 straight home games and 29 consecutive conference games.
