NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh University men's basketball team drilled 18 three's while shooting almost 55 percent from behind the arc to outscore the Fighting Scots of Ohio Valley 96-81 in Saturday's (Feb. 8) matchup in Alumni Arena. The win lifts Walsh to 20-3 overall and 11-2 in the G-MAC. 

The Cavaliers and Fighting Scots traded baskets for the first three and a half minutes of the contest until Walsh went on a 14-0 run, highlighted by two three-pointers from Darryl Straughter and two from Mark Mokros. Ohio Valley was able to cut the lead to six early in the second half, but the Cavs ultimately pulled away to earn the victory. 

Straughter drained six three's, shooting 54.5 percent from three, en route to 29 points to lead all scorers. Mokros followed close behind as he connected for seven threes, shooting 63.6 percent from deep, to pour in 28 points. Christian Montague played a complete game, adding 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Caleb Canter led on the glass as he grabbed a game-best eight rebounds.

Walsh will travel to Hillsdale on Thursday (Feb. 13) to take on the Chargers at 7:30 pm.
