Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - In the G-MAC Quarterfinal at Alumni Arena on Tuesday (March 2), the #3 Walsh Cavaliers women's basketball team fell to the #6 seeded Findlay Oilers 63-58. Walsh dropped to 16-6 overall on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Walsh started the game with a 17-6 run on four three pointers and 14 points by Lexie Scarton. After Findlay pulled within six with 2:57 left in the first quarter, Walsh went on a 13-0 run to push the advantage to 32-13 with 8:39 left in the second period. After Walsh led by 19 (the largest lead of the night), the Cavaliers took a 39-27 lead into halftime. A 7-2 Cavaliers run out of halftime opened a 17-point lead, coming off a three pointer from Kimmie Borck. Over the course of nine minutes between the third and fourth quarter, Findlay responded with a 21-0 run that turned a 51-37 Walsh into a 58-51 lead for the Oilers. Findlay knocked out the Cavaliers off the tournament with a 63-59 win.
FOR THE CAVALIERS
- Lexie Scarton led the Cavaliers with 19 points on seven-of-15 shooting, including five-of-ten from deep.
- Megan Ball added ten points, five rebounds and two blocks.
- Sha Carter neared a triple-double with nine points, 11 rebounds and a career-high eight assists along with four steals.
- Mayci Sales scored six points with nine rebounds and four blocks.
FOR THE OILERS
- Sydney Kin finished with a game-high 28 points on 13 field goals along with eight rebounds.
- Amber Schweiger tallied 20 points and six assists.
- Paige Bellman had a game-high 13 rebounds.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- Walsh started the game with a 50% (10-20) shooting percentage in the first quarter but finished with a 32.3% (21-65) field goal percentage for the game.
- Findlay shot 46.9% (23-49) from the floor.
- Walsh totaled 37 rebounds, 19 assists, eight steals and six blocks. The Oilers finished with 39 rebounds, 13 assists, eight steals and no blocks.
Walsh will await the fate of the NCAA Division II Selection Committee on Sunday (March 7) to determine if the season continues in the NCAA Atlantic Regional.
