AKRON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's track and field team wrapped up the prep for next week's Great Midwest Championships with a couple of local meets on Friday (Feb. 18) and Saturday (Feb. 19). Some of the Cavaliers competed on Friday at the Al Campbell Invitational at Akron and others took to the track on Saturday at Kent State.
Friday's meet saw Walsh's school record fall in the Mile as Chandler Wilhelm broke the five-year record. Wilhelm capped the race with a 4:12.97 as he finished in second place.
Gabe Miller reached a NCAA Division II Provisional Mark in the Weight Throw on Saturday as he topped out at 18.18 meters.
