ASHLAND, Ohio - After the Jud Logan Light Giver Open was shortened to one day due to weather, the Walsh Cavaliers men's indoor track & field team went to work Saturday (Feb. 5) at the newly christened Niss Athletic Center. In the one day event, Walsh came home with two new school records, five provisional marks and ten finishes within the top six. 

Hunter Moore broke the 3000 meter record with a blistering pace of 8:17.25, the third fastest mark in the conference record books. Jacob Ott followed with a record toss of 17.48 meters in the Shot Put, breaking the four-year plus record. The DMR quartet of Chander Wilhelm, Xavier Foehl, Josh Conrad and Nathan Moore ran the sixth fastest medley relay in the G-MAC ranks.

• Hunter Moore (3000 Meters): 8:17.25 – Walsh School Record, NCAA D2 Provisional Mark, 3^rd fastest in G-MAC history
• Distance Medley Relay (Chandler Wilhelm, Xavier Foehl, Josh Conrad, Nathan Moore): 9:58.43  – NCAA D2 Provisional Mark, 6^th fastest time in G-MAC history
• Jacob Ott (Shot Put): 17.48 meters – Walsh School Record, NCAA D2 Provisional Mark, 12^th in Division II

3^rd Place Finishes

• Cameron Beverly (High Jump): 1.95 meters

4^th Place Finishes

• Jacob Ott (Weight Throw): 19.16 meters – NCAA D2 Provisional Mark

6^th Place Finishes

• Tyree Broyles (60 Meters Qualifying): 7.16 seconds
• Chandler Wilhelm (800 Meters): 1:55.67
• Nathan Moore (3000 Meters): 8:27.50
• Joel Berger (60 Hurdles): 8.46 seconds
• 4x400 Relay (Corey Harder, Michael Contrucci, Josh Conrad, Chandler Wilhelm): 3:25.45

• Gabe Miller (Weight Throw): 9^th place, 18.20 meters – NCAA D2 Provisional Mark

Walsh will return to action next week at Grand Valley State and Tiffin, respectively.
