NORTH CANTON, OH- The Walsh Cavaliers Women's Lacrosse team battled their way to victory, defeating the Northern Michigan Wildcats, 13-10. The Maroon and Gold started strong, having a 5-2 lead. Before half, the Wildcats would inch their way back to make the score 7-5. The Wildcats would continue their run in the third quarter to tail the Cavaliers, 7-6. Rachel Black and Lindsay Hindman responded, each finding the back of the net, extending Walsh's lead to 9-6 with 6:27 left in the third quarter. Northern Michigan would continue to stick around, running down the field to score a goal to keep the contest close. Katie Coomes would score off a free position shot at 2:10 left in the third quarter. Sidney Klinger would score as well to extend the Cavaliers lead to 11-7. In the fourth quarter, the Wildcats would score three goals and the Cavaliers would score twice. The Cavaliers held their lead as time winded down to grab the win before G-MAC play starts this coming weekend.
