ASHLAND, OH- The Walsh Cavaliers Women's Lacrosse team opened their 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Sunday, against Ashland. The first 30 minutes was back and forth but it would be the Cavs who flew away with the 12 goal win.  The Maroon and Gold would go ahead to score 11 straight goals in the second half defeating Ashland 16-4. Walsh has now won seven games in a row!

RECORDS: Walsh 7-2 (1-0), Ashland 4-5 (0-1) 

FOR THE CAVALIERS:  

• Kaytlyn Tokar and Katie Coomes were the leading scorers with four goals each.

• Isabella Kelty, Lindsay Hindman, Grace Santee (one assist), and Melinda Maers each connected two goals.

• The Cavalier defense forced 16 Eagle turnovers.

• Kathleen Mendenhall had three saves and allowed four goals. Rebekah Bargeron had four saves. They split time in goal during the contest. 

The Cavaliers will head to Painesville, OH to take on the Storm of Lake Erie College on March 31st at 6:30pm.
