NORTH CANTON, OH: 3 Walsh Cavaliers are headed to the NCAA National Championships next week! Earlier today, the NCAA announced the qualifiers for this years national meet that will be held in Pueblo, Colorado.
Joel Brown,
Micah Gremling, and
Claire Rethman will represent the Maroon and Gold.
Micah Gremling, senior, has the most national championship experience. Most recently, Micah competed and finished 3rd in the 60m at the Indoor National Championships in March. As G-MAC Champion in both indoor and outdoor this season, Gremling will look to pace with his school record in the 100m of 10.10s and have a strong showing in his last National Championship.
Claire Rethman has also been a lock for the Cavs for a top podium spot over the past few seasons. As a back to back G-MAC Champion in the 1500m, Rethman will compete in that event in Pueblo.
The newcomer of the year,
Joel Brown, will compete in the Decathalon at the Championship meet. Winning the G-MAC crown a few weeks ago, as well as Male Freshman of the Meet, Joel's score of 6910 points was a new school record!
The National Championship meet will be held in Pueblo, Colorado, hosted by Colorado State Pueblo, May 22nd through 24th!
