NORTH CANTON, OH: The 19th ranked Cavalier Men's Basketball team earned another G-MAC win on Saturday afternoon with one of their most efficient offensive games of the season. Shooting 56% overall including 55.6% from behind the arc, the Men had all five starters in double figures in the 10 point victory.
Just like all conference contests, first half play was back and fourth between the two teams. Both teams made 16 total shots including four 3 pointers. The difference at the halftime break was just one point, with the Cavs leading 41-40. Walsh controlled the game for the entire first session, leading by as much as seven points but Cedarville hung in, taking their first lead of the game at the 1:52 mark of the first half.The Yellow Jacket lead never got any bigger than three points to end the 20 minutes.
Once the second half started, the momentum went back to the Maroon and Gold as Walsh quickly built a seven point lead. An 11-0 run got the lead to 15 points thanks to hot shooting behind the arc from
Zack Oddo,
Quintero Barnett, and
Kobe Mitchell. The deficit hung around 8-12 points, in favor of the Cavaliers until the final buzzer.
The Men's efficent shooting and strong rebounding was the key difference in the 22nd win of the season.
Walsh will travel to Ashland on Thursday for a huge G-MAC clash vs the Eagles. Tip off is set for 7:30pm.
