KENT AND ASHLAND, OH: It was another weekend of success for Walsh as the Track and Field teams competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State. A few Cavs in distance competed at Ashland in the Jud Logan Light Giver Invitational. Headlining the success for the Maroon and Gold was
Joel Brown as he set a new school record in the Heptathlon. His performance earned 5479 points which is the best in NCAA DII. His outstanding performance was his first provo mark of the season. Last spring, in outdoor, Joel won G-MAC Freshman of the Year and Meet and won a G-MAC title in the decathlon. He holds the school record for that as well.
With the conference championships around the corner, the next set of meets will be important as the Cavs continue to push for provisional marks. This week, distance runners will compete at GVSU while others will compete at Kent State.
