No. 2 Saginaw Valley Handles Cavs

(UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.) – No. 2 Saginaw Valley was too powerful for Walsh as the Cavaliers fell by a score of 5-1 in GLIAC action Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals (10-0-2, 7-0-2) scored four goals in the opening half and held a 5-0 lead before the Cavs (4-7, 2-7) finally scored.

The first Saginaw Valley score came in the sixth minute as Vaughn Frederick scored on an assist from Tyler Channell. Channell added the Cards' second goal in the 26th minute and assisted on another in the 29th to make the score 3-0.

The Cavaliers' lone goal came in the 64th minute when Bailey Moody booted in a rebounded shot by Dillon Parsons for his first goal of the season.

The Cards controlled the ball for the majority of the game and held a 24-6 advantage on shots.

Walsh remains on the road for its next two games next week. The first of those comes Friday as the Cavs head to Findlay to take on the Oilers. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
