Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – There was no answer for Saginaw Valley State's Jordan Kalk as the junior scored a hat trick as Walsh fell 5-1 in GLIAC action at Milazzo Field Friday evening. The Cavaliers dropped to 3-8 overall and 1-7 in the conference while the Cardinals stay among the leaders in the GLIAC at 9-2 overall and 7-1 within the conference.
Kalk wasn't the only threat the Cardinals had. Tyler Channell started the scoring with a penalty kick in the 21st minute. It was the first of two for SVSU and first of three in the game. It was Channell's conference-leading 12th goal of the season. Kalk joined him by scoring his 12th in the 69th minute.
The Cavaliers only goal came with 25 seconds left as Ryan Baker took the penalty kick and went right for his second score of the season.
It was one of just four shots Walsh had on the night as Saginaw Valley controlled the ball for the majority of the contest. Overall the Cardinals outshot the Cavs 16-4.
Walsh faces another tough opponent on Sunday when Northwood visits North Canton. Kickoff against the Timberwolves is set for 3:30 p.m.
