Box Score (GREENSBURG, Pa.) – Walsh dropped a second consecutive game with a 13-4 defeat at the hands of Seton Hill at DSG Field in ECAC action on Tuesday afternoon. The Cavaliers' (1-4, 1-2) offense had difficulties generating much momentum as the Griffins (6-1, 3-0) remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Cavs did open up the scoring with an unassisted goal by Alex Hudgens (So., South Lyon, MI/HS) just over five minutes into the game, but Seton Hill answered with an equalizer with 7:18 left in the first quarter. It was the first goal in a 5-0 run that put the hosts in control. Walsh eventually got back in the scorer's column with a goal by Joseph Postlehwait (So., Zanesville, OH/Lakota East) on an assist from Bryan Crim (So., Reading, PA/Exeter) with 3:34 left in the half that made the score 5-2.
That was about the time the Cavs' offense went into a lull. Seton Hall went on another 5-0 run that included a last second goal just before the halftime and the only two goals in the third frame. Crim finally ended the run on an assisted strike that made the score 10-3 in the fourth. Zach Macaluso (So., Olmsted Falls, OH/St. Edward) added the final score on a Nicholas Castorf (So., Holbrook, NY/Sachem) assist.
On the defensive end, it was difficult to stop Seton Hill's Zach Hartman as he scored four goals and an assist.
Dylan Ciolino (So., Nesconset, NY/Sachem North) was under attack for almost the entire game as he made seven saves on 40 shots faced. He also added five ground balls, a team high.
The Cavaliers will now gear up for a home conference game against Wheeling Jesuit. Walsh will face-off with the Cardinals this Saturday with a scheduled start time of 1 p.m.
