Box Score (UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.) – The Walsh men's soccer team faced another buzz saw as it fell to Saginaw Valley State 9-1 Sunday afternoon at Braddock Field. The Cardinals (5-1, 3-0) scored six goals against the Cavaliers (2-4, 0-3) in the first half en route to the win.
The Cardinals' Jordan Kalk recorded a hat trick in the first half to lead the SVSU attack. Tyler Channell added a hat trick and completed his in the second half.
Kenan Newbold (So., Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) scored Walsh's only goal on an assist from George Bukenya (Fr., Rougemont, N.C./Northern) in the 79th minute.
The Cavaliers wrap up a three-game road trip in Painesville against Lake Erie this Friday. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
