Cavs Drill Oilers 6-3

(FINDLAY, Ohio) – It was a perfect week for the Walsh men's tennis team as it doubled up Findlay 6-3 at the Armstrong Courts on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 11-9 on the season overall and 4-3 in the GLIAC heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The Oilers dropped to 10-12 overall on the season and are now 1-7 within the conference.

Walsh started off the day with two wins in the doubles portion of the match. Pablo Cabezon and Carlos Jaque scored an 8-5 win over Carlos Blanvo and Nicholas Kopylec at No. 2 Doubles. Heitor Adegas and Jonah Carter followed up with an 8-4 win over Trevor Majdalani and Reid Wynkoop at No. 3 doubles.

In singles action, the bottom four also scored the points to give Walsh the win. Cabezon made it a perfect day once again with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Blanco at the No. 3 spot. Jaque and Adegas also had unbeaten days, but needed three sets to get wins. Jaque defeated Kopylec 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 at No. 4 singles while Adegas scored a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over Wynkoop at the sixth spot.

Rodrigo Garcia provided the last point with a pair of 6-3 sets against Majdalani at No. 5 singles.

The Cavaliers will wrap up the regular season next weekend at Ferris State and Grand Valley State.
