Men's Tennis Falls at Northwood

(MIDLAND, Mich.) – The Walsh men's tennis team fell to Northwood by a score of 9-0 at the Greater Midland Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers are now 10-8 overall and 2-2 in the conference. The Timberwolves improved to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.

Ross Whittaker and Felix Zimmerman played tough at the top doubles spot, but ultimately fell 8-5 to Austin Woody and David Reinauer.

In singles action, Rodrigo Garcia and Jose Fernandez were close to recording points, but both fell in third set tiebreakers. Garcia won the first set 6-4, but fell in the second 6-1 before a 10-4 tiebreaker. Fernandez dropped the first 7-5, but rebounded to win the second 6-4. He was close to winning the tiebreaker, but fell 11-9.

The Cavaliers will have just one match next weekend when it heads west to take on Tiffin on Saturday at 10 a.m.
