Crim Scores 100th Goal In Win vs. Senators

Box Score

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Walsh got back in the win column with an 8-3 victory over G-MAC newcomer Davis & Elkins Tuesday afternoon at Vasco Field. The Cavaliers improved to 2-11 overall and 2-3 in the conference. The Senators dropped to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in the G-MAC.

Bryan Crim started the scoring early with a goal just 66 seconds into the game. It was the 99th of his career, and he eventually added his 100th late in the fourth quarter. He is the all-time leading scorer in program history and tops the Walsh record books in goals and points.

Crim's first goal was a part of a fast start for the Cavs that saw them jump out to a 3-0 lead. Benjamin Suchomma and Alex Hudgens both added goals in the next three minutes to give Walsh the edge.

Davis & Elkins then started to rally and added two goals before the end of the quarter and provided the only goal in the second quarter to tie the game before the half.

Kevin McMahon put the Cavaliers back on top with a goal late in the third quarter to make the score 4-3. The tide then started to turn more in the Cavs' favor after they scored despite being down a man as Ryan Martin found the back of the net on an assist from McMahon.

Walsh was excellent off the start as it won 11-of-14 face-offs. Ryan Rafac was responsible for 10 of those wins and added four ground balls on the day. Mark Guzik led the team with five ground balls. Dylan Ciolino had one of his best games in goal as he saves seven shots with three allowed.

The Cavaliers will close the home season this Saturday against Lindenwood at 1 p.m.
