Men's Lacrosse Downed at UIndy

Box Score

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Walsh men's lacrosse team fell to Indianapolis in a defensive battle by a score of 7-4 at Key Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The seven goals were the fewest allowed by the Cavaliers (1-9) this season, but the Greyhounds (6-3) limited the Maroon and Gold to the second-fewest amount this season in return.

Bryan Crim scored the game's opening goal on an assist from Benjamin Suchomma early in the first as Walsh took advantage of a UIndy penalty. However, the Greyhounds responded with the next six goals and held the Cavs scoreless until the third.

Down 6-1, Walsh rallied with two more power play goals as Suchomma scored on the assist from Nicholas Castorf and Crim followed with an unassisted strike. Ryan Martin made the score 6-4 with a goal with 4:35 left in the game, but the Cavs were unable to get any closer.

Despite the loss, Dylan Ciolino had an incredible game in goal with 17 saves, the second-highest of the season, on 36 shots faced.

The Cavaliers will now prep for a road trip to Seton Hill on Tuesday. Face-off with the Griffons is set for 4 p.m.
