Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's lacrosse team scored early and often as the Cavaliers excelled on the offensive and defensive ends, defeating the Alderson Broaddus Battlers 27-3 on Saturday (March 20) afternoon at Larry Staudt Field.
The Cavaliers scored 27 goals in the contest, tying the offensive output from April 6, 2019 against Davis & Elkins.
Walsh outscored Alderson Broaddus 6-0 in the first quarter as Colby Bowman, Sully Dowling, Brent Mitchell, Kevin McMahon, Marcus Brown and Jake Cieszynski all scored for the Cavaliers. The team scored another six goals in the second quarter as they led 12-1 at the halftime break. Bradley and Bowman both scored twice while Cieszynski and McMahon added their second goals in the contest. McMahon assisted on two of the goals in the second quarter and Aidan Martinez added his own assist.
Walsh doubled the offensive total in the third quarter with 13 goals scored in 15 minutes. Ten different Cavaliers scored in the period as the lead grew to 25-1. Roman Smoot tallied three goals and one assist in the third quarter and Mitchell scored twice. Cameron Gregory assisted on two goals and scored one as well. Bradley, Adam Tinline, Anthony Munoz, McMahon, Dowling, Andrew Singer and Logan Weidman all were scorers in the quarters. Marcus Brown and Jayden Tomiyama had assists on goals in the third quarter.
Tomiyama scored the only two goals in the fourth quarter on assists from Calvin Cheney and Martinez.
