GRANVILLE, OH- The Cavaliers were defeated by Denison University by a score of 25-6 Tuesday (April 13th) night. The loss puts the Cavaliers at a record of 3-6 for the season.

Score: Walsh 6, Denison 25

Despite only trailing by one at the end of the first period, the Cavalier's were unable to contain the Denison offense for the remainder of the game. 

Five out of the six total goals for Walsh were scored in the first half of play. Down 1-0, Sully Dowling tied the game seven minutes into the first period. 

Kevin McMahon and Preston Coffman scored a goal a piece to help the Cavaliers cut the Big Red lead to one.

Dowling scored his second goal of the night to make the score 5-4 Denison before the end of the first period.

Denison's defense dominated the second period, allowing only one Walsh goal by number #22 Marcus Brown.

Walsh trailed 11-5 at the half.

The Cavaliers struggled to contain the Big Red offense as they were outscored 14-1 in the second half. Senior Brent Mitchell scored the only goal of the half late in the fourth period assisted by Evan Bradley. 

FOR THE CAVS

• Kyle Lacey, Patrick Cuddihy, and Jake Cieszynski each picked up three groundballs a piece
• Sully Dowling led Walsh in goals at two, totaling for 17 on the year (team high)
• The goalie duo of Patrick Cuddihy and Patrick Finger combined for 16 total saves
• The Cavalier defense caused 12 turnovers

FOR THE BIG RED

• Camden Bowdy led all-scores with five goals
• Steven Villacorta totaled eight groundballs for a game high
• Denison was 23-23 on clears for the night
