Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's lacrosse team opened the 2022 season at home on Friday (Feb. 18) against the Maryville Saints at Larry Staudt Field. The Saints started hot on a cold, snowy afternoon, winning the game 17-5 in the 2022 lidlifter.
Maryville scored the first 11 goals in the first half as they led the game 11-0 at halftime. Evan Bradley scored twice in the third quarter and added two more scores in the fourth quarter. Sully Dowling rounded out the scoring with a goal at the five minute mark of the fourth quarter along with two assists in the game. Maryville won the game 17-5.
FOR THE CAVALIERS
- Bradley scored four goals on five shots (all on goal).
- Dowling added one goal and two assists with ten shots taken (seven on goal).
- Mike Sawulak had three groundballs with three caused turnovers as Gabe Brown picked up two groundballs and caused three turnovers.
- Patrick Cuddihy made 12 saves in the game after facing 54 shots (29 on goal) with three groundballs and two forced turnovers.
FOR THE SAINTS
- Aiden Koenig scored four times while Jacob Allen had seven points on two goals and five assists.
- Cooper George won 11 faceoffs with eight groundballs.
Walsh will host Molloy next Saturday (Feb. 26) at 11:00 AM.
